One last summer fling...

At the last minute I decided to cram one more adventure into our summer- a trip to NY so the kids could spend some summer time on Grandma and Grandpa's farm. We left Friday evening after the girls' dance recital, getting on the road a little after 8 pm. Lincoln wasn't able to get away from work so we left him at home with his friends Peace and Quiet for a week or so. (Although I think they will give up and be replaced by Boredom and What On Earth Do I Do With Myself before the weekend is over.) I drove Friday night to a friend's house in Indiana. We got there at 2 am, thanks to loosing an hour when we crossed a time zone. Saturday morning we got on the road late- about 10:30- and drove to Palmyra NY, arriving about 7:30. We met my brother there and after letting the kids run around at the Hill Cumorah for a while, he drove the rest of the way to Mom and Dad's for me. We got there at a little after 1 am, surprising the folks with our arrival. I hadn't told them we were coming because i didn't want them to worry about me on the road by myself with five kids. Anyway, we're thrilled to be here and have already enjoyed a Sunday evening walk back in the pasture to meet their new horses. Check back in a week or so for details and photos. I'm officially on vacation from blogging for a while so i can focus on soaking up the joy and contentment I feel being Home.

I'm glad that you were able to get home! I know that you were wanting to and not sure if you could. You are very brave to go by your self. You are my hero! Now if only I could get your hot mamma look!

man, your me hero too! I only have two kiddos and I'm more of a home body than before... How do you do it? Just thinking about fighting Noah into some clothing and working around Alexandra's nap schedule is enough to have me stay in my pajamas all morning.
