Kennedy and I went on a fun date on Saturday. Lincoln and I spent Saturday morning going through the heaps and heaps of toys overtaking our basement. We loaded the entire back of the Mountaineer- with both rows of seats down- with toys to be hauled off to Goodwill. Kennedy and I took the job as an opportunity to have a little date together. We stopped for lunch at The Cook's Room, a cute little cafe here in downtown Dodgeville. We had a lovely lunch of chicken noodle soup and a Tuscany panini sandwich (very delicious!) followed by Kennedy's choice of dessert, this huge brownie sundae. I ate very little of it (my choice would have been the mascarpone). One of my fillings I got a week ago is still very sensitive to cold. But the brownie part of it was heavenly.
After lunch we drove by a house I want to buy in Mineral Point. Then we went to Goodwill to drop off our load. We went inside to look for a blanket for our pathetic dog that is restricted to the garage in this cold WI weather, and we shopped around a bit. We found some really cute things, actually, and had a lot of fun shopping together. I love times when I can spend one on one time with my kids. They're growing up fast.
